VEGAS CHEFS SHINE AT WOLF’S 25TH
Celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck has recruited an impressive list of Vegas kitchen kings and restaurateurs to celebrate the 25th American Food and Wine Festival raising funds this weekend for Meals on Wheels.
Although the three day event is held in Los Angeles, numerous Vegas foodies make the trek south – including yours truly who will be MC and auctioneer at the big Sunday night high-roller finale dinner. It all kicks off tonight with Tom Coliccchio from MGM’s Craftsteak joining the chefs of Steve Wynn’s Steakhouse for kickoff ceremonies at Wolf’s new Red 78 eatery in the Pacific Design Center. Then tomorrow, everybody from Paul Bartolotta (WYNN), David Burke (Venetian), Todd English (Olives in Bellagio), Nobu Matsuhisa (Hard Rock), Michael Mina (MGM & Bellagio), David Robins & Eric Klein (Spago in Caesars Palace), Piero Selvaggio and Luciano Pellegrini (Valentino’s in the Venetian), Julian Serrano (Picasso in the Bellagio), Joachim Splichal (Patina in the Venetian) will join 25 other superstar gourmet giants from New York to Hawaii for kitchen demonstrations and food tastings for a six-hour extravaganza on the back lot of Universal Studios in Hollywood.
Wolf’s partner, Lee Hefter, who will be opening their new CUT restaurant in the Palazzo tower at the Venetian on Decmber 20, will also star there. Then, Sunday evening with tables of ten going for $7,000 apiece, Wolf and Nobu will be joined by Guy Savoy (Caesars), Emeril Lagasse (Delmonico’s in The Venetian), Jean-Georges Vongerichten (Prime in the Bellagio) and Charlie Trotter (to open in the Palazzo at The Venetian) will serve up the ultimate six-course fine-dining menu. In between their delectable dishes, I’ll do my best to up the ante for the 6th year, auctioning off mind-blowing trips and rare vintage wines in an attempt
