STRIP SCRIBBLES for June 28

… My sexy gal-pal Nikki Zeiring, who has been filming for the last two weeks here in Vegas for the new Crazy Girls spy comedy-chiller flick, called on my hairdresser to the stars friend, Michael Boychuck of AMP Salon at the Palms for her blonde tresses

Robert Downey Jr.’s character in the “Iron Man” film shooting at Caesars Palace called for a security guard, so to save time and money, director Jon Favreau cast himself in the part - and then after shooting the scene yelled “wrap” to end final Vegas shooting of the Marvel Comic hero
… Actress Rachel McAdams, her look-alike makeup artist sister Kayleen, actor Michael Pena from “Crash” and Illusionist director Neil Burger stayed on for a mini-Vegas vacation after completing scenes of their new film “The Return” by partying at Body English nightclub in the Hard Rock
… Also spotted inside were AFI band members, including lead singer Davey Havok, and San Antonio Spurs basketball star, Robert Horry at separate tables
… The gods and goddesses of beach volleyball are returning to Caesars Palace on September 6-8, and the resort will lay down 10-tons of sand for the artificial beach right on the Strip
… Chef Susan Rispoli gave her first wine-tasting dinner at her newly opened JR’s Place Italian bistro, attracting MGM’s entertainment chief, Richard Sturm, Patron tequila head honcho Ed Brown, magician Brian Campbell and yours truly. All the stars have been making their way to the off-Strip hangout, and Richard told me he’s hoping to get Liza Minnelli back to Vegas for more shows despite the fact that her Luxor theater shutters this coming week to prepare for its makeover as home to Criss Angel’s new Cirque magic show
… You’ve got until midnight July 15 to take your last looks at the New Frontier before the 984-room western-themed resort is blown up and replaced with a six billion dollar replica of New York’s famed Plaza Hotel complete with 300 private luxury residences and 3,500 hotel suites
… You can bet money that Kid Rock will steer clear of ex-wife Pamela Anderson when he performs at the Pearl in the Palms on August 31 while she’s in her magic show at Planet Hollywood. Let’s hope Tommy Lee won’t be in town, because last time that trio tangled here there was an unexplained altercation in the Hard Rock hotel when a door mistaken for Kid’s suite got smashed in, much to the chagrin of a startled non-celebrity guest trying to sleep!

TONIGHTS TIP: I just have to get out to Green Valley Ranch’s new Ovation concert lounge and check out Rich & Famous, which they themselves describe as our city’s hottest new band. I love that name—and maybe I can check my contracts and see if there’s a couple of royalty dollars due me!! Four glamour girls and four guys make up the band named after my old TV show. They play every Thursday, Friday and Saturday … It’s also the third anniversary of the Voodoo Rising after-hours party with the Voodoo Dolls and a fireworks display at the Rio.

TOMORROW’S TEASE: The big question of the day is, will she or won’t she? Singer Lauren Hill has a troubled history of not showing up for gigs or giving refunds to disgruntled fans … Plus, the sexiest pool party of the summer and the entire Royal Robin Rundown of pre-holiday weekend parties and pleasures.
When visiting Vegas, be sure to see Las Vegas Magazine in your hotel suite featuring a print edition of Vegas Luxe Life, and an incredible directory of attractions, shows and restaurants.
