*No wonder he was here celebrating at the weekend in WYNN: Chinese action star Jet Li will be paid a record 100 million Yuan ($13 million) for his new Chinese-language movie, The Warlords. He held the previous record of 70-million Yuan. The 44-year-old childhood martial arts champion, who has appeared in such Hollywood movies as Lethal Weapon 4 and Romeo Must Die, had just wrapped Bank Job before flying to Vegas for a celebration weekend. Interesting to note that the Chinese communist government is now competing at Hollywood salary levels for Asian box-office stars which might indicate future investment interest in Tinseltown for cross multi-cultural films. Jet Li’s war epic will be released here next March.

*Bret Michaels, star of VH1 hit show Rock of Love and former lead singer of Poison, was spotted all over the Hard Rock Hotel for two consecutive days.

He luxuriated in the Rock Spa, toured the Penthouse, dined at AJ’s Steakhouse and was seen outside at the pool. He was surrounded by a pack of lovely ladies and stopped several times to take photos with fans. Word is that he’s quietly looking for female contestants for yet another reality show he wants to film here.

*Included in the alimony and child support claim in the divorce petition filed by Linda Bollea against her multi-millionaire wrestling star hubby, Hulk Hogan is the condo they are having built here in Vegas. The Vegas condo is at George Maloof’s new Palms Place condominium tower. The couple, who were married for 24-years, has two Florida homes valued at almost $10-million, but Hogan said they wanted a West Coast base from Vegas. He was here two weeks ago partying with the Playboy bunnies at the Palms.

*Today—Tuesday, November 27—is the birthday of one of the greatest and most influential guitarists in rock music history: Jimi Hendrix. To mark the occasion, retailer Hollywood Obsessions, in conjunction with the House of Hendrix, has the premiere release of the wild rocker’s own original artwork on show in the new Planet Hollywood resort’s casino lobby. The exhibition contains limited edition prints of Hendrix paintings and rare never-before-seen photographs documenting his career both on-stage and behind the scenes.
