*Congratulations to The Venetian comedy headliner Wayne Brady on his 35th birthday, which he celebrated with the cast of his “Making It Up” show at the Tao nightclub above his theater.
They all performed their regular 9 p.m. show and then celebrated in style on the nightclub’s dance floor. The gorgeous servers brought out a birthday cake with sparklers to his VIP table for the party, which was fueled well into the early morning with Patron tequila shots and Grey Goose cocktails.
*All three of E!’s Daily 10 show co-hosts will be on hand all this week for taped broadcasts of their nightly 7:30 p.m. show from the Hard Rock Hotel and casino pool. TV cameras will roll each day at 1:30 p.m. if you want to stop by and meet Debbie Matenopoulus, Catt Sadler, Sal Masekela along with DJ Clinton Sparks and film expert Ben Lyons.
The guests this week for the Vegas broadcasts include dancing diva Karina Smirnoff, designer Christian Audiger for the hotter than hot Ed Hardy fashion line, actor Bill Pullman arriving early for CineVegas and pro motocross rider Carey Hart who is about to open his new Wasted Spaces nightlife lounge there. Expect co-host Catt Sadler to strip down to her bikini to show the results of a boot camp workout and viewers will be able to play the Celebrity Wedding Chapel Game.
*Happy to report that the Ra Sushi fundraisers across country for St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital raised more than $132,000. Here in Vegas we raised more than $5,500 including the celebrity bartending challenge that I took part in against our loveable merry mayor of mirth, Oscar Goodman!
It was the most successful fundraiser yet for children with leukemia and brain tumors since it began in 2005.
*From the Surveillance File: newly-wed rap music mogul Jay Z took over his own VIP suite at his 40/40 sports club lounge in The Palazzo to watch Game 1 of the NBA finals between the Boston Celtics and the LA Lakers. … Married actors Lisa Rinna & Harry Hamlin (Dancing With the Stars) stayed in the Fantasy Tower at the Palms and took the elevator up for dinner to Nove Italiano and shared baby beet salad, pizza di mozzarella and chicken parmignon with spaghetti …..enjoying the Asian themed TAO bistro and nightclub in the neighboring Venetian resort casino at separate tables were Nip/Tuck actress Kelly Carlson, General Hospital star Julie Berman and Dave Keuning, guitarist for The Killers … Stanley Cup winner and NHL hockey legend Luc Robitaille selected lobster tacos, yellowtail sashimi, spicy tuna and a filet mignon when he took his wife to dinner at Fix restaurant in the Bellagio. … Comedian Kevin James made it a 2 a.m. low-key night when he stuck to Michelob Ultra beers at the bar of the Jet nightclub rather than VIP bottle service.
Sexy Janelle Perry from the Sunset Tan TV reality series had dinner at the new Dos Caminos Mod-Mex restaurant in The Palazzo between two separate groups of sports stars: Sedrick Ellis, No. 7 pick in this year’s draft to the New Orleans Saints, and members of the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers including Ethan Moreau, and Mathieu Roy helping fellow teammate Raffi Torres celebrate his bachelor party.
