*Our Mandalay Bay tattoo artist Mario Barth has gone into the Guinness Book of World Records overnight. En route by luxury private Gulfstream G-4 jet to the 23rd annual Winter Music Festival in Miami last night (TUES) he tattooed Motley Crue drummer turned DJ, Tommy Lee.
It was verified as the first-ever in flight tattoo at 40,000 feet. bringing a whole new meaning to the mile-high club! Said Tommy: “Mario from Starlight Tattoo is the best artist in the world.” Mario opened his salon at the House of Blues a few weeks ago. His celebrity clientele includes fellow Motley Crue guitarist Nikki Sixx, Lenny Kravitz, Ja Rule and Jason Kidd.
*Its George Michael’s first American tour in 17 years and he makes a stop in the MGM Grand Garden arena on June 21. The idol in his own right has been more in the headlines in recent years because of some odd sexual trysts but his new 29-song two-CD album simply titled 25—complete with Paul McCartney and Mary J. Blige duets will shatter worldwide charts on its April 1 release. Tickets, videos and songs went on sale yesterday (TUES) at iTunes. He will play 22 cities in seven weeks! Tomorrow (THURS) he makes his American acting debut on the new hit ABC series, Eli Stone, in which each episode is titled after one of his songs.
*Another unique E-Bay auction is underway but this time with Grammy nominated recording star Daughtry. He’s set to play a live acoustic set at The Beatles Revolution Lounge at The Mirage on Sunday April 13 for the ONE Campaign against extreme poverty and global AIDS. Just 200 tickets are available for auction today (WED) on E-Bay with the highest bidders winning them by next Monday night.
*Vegas was party-central the past few days. Playboy Playmate cover model Tamara Witmer celebrated her 24th birthday alongside the bikini clad Hawaiian Tropic Zone girls at the tropical themed Miracle Mile eatery at the Planet Hollywood resort.
It was also a 23rd birthday bash for ABC-TV’s young star Michael Scott Foster of the new hit, Greek series—and his castmates celebrated with him at the new Prive nightclub in the Planet Hollywood Resort.
With the celebratory Dom Perignon champagne and Grey Goose vodka the cast danced on the banquettes and didn’t call it a night until 2 a.m. Also there joining in the festivities were tennis great Jennifer Capriati and actor Jonathan Silverman—separately!
*Pioneering hip-hop duo Wil B and Kev Marcus who make up the Black Violins partied at the boutique Blush nightclub in the Wynn with Sunset Tan owners, Melissa Taylor, Jeff Bozz and Devin Harman and our tattooed hometown moto-cross legendary champion Carey Hart.
