ROCK GUITARIST DAVE NAVARRO—UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL FOR LAUNCH OF NEW PARTY SCENE
Most stars yell “No photos!” Most stars turn up 20 minutes late, perform their set for one hour and call it quits. Most stars immediately run off to avoid fans. But not rocker Dave Navarro—on any count. The Jane’s Addiction and Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist opened the new hot party series “Music is the Currency” at the Rain nightclub in the Palms.
He arrived right on time at midnight! He played with DJ Skribble for an amazing two-and-a-half-hour performance! He stuck to just lots of Fiji water and diet Cokes and even had waitress July run to the Palms store to get him Snickers bars to increase his blood sugar count! Dave wasn’t paranoid about being photographed and invited our intrepid lensman Scott Doctor to get even closer for this extraordinary pictorial! “He even came over to me to mug for the camera, ” said Scott.
“He didn’t try to control his image or limit our access. He’s a true performer with great talent and phenomenal stage presence which is rare today with many stars.”
Dave, in tuxedo jacket, blue jeans and a scarf, had an entourage of super hot women in tow and he sat them at a stage VIP table. My pal, Marko Greisen at the N9ne Group added: “It was the best performance to ever grace our Rain stage. The duo proved rock and roll and hip-hop can mix. It was one of the hottest and most successful nights ever in Vegas.”
