POWER PEOPLE PLAY IN OUR PLATINUM PARTY PLAYGROUND
Surprise celebrity appearances are becoming the norm at the Hard Rock Hotel these days, you never know who is going to pick up the mic! Grammy-winning hitmaker Akon wowed the crowds at both the Smashtime party in Body English and then next day at the Rehab pool party.
Also joining Smashtime’s hot party was TV’s newest “It” girl from Gossip Girl, Leighton Meester and actor friends Joshua Lebar and Sebastian Stan. At one point Akon pulled Leighton on stage to sing “Happy Birthday” to their host for the evening. Other party guests included Sopranos star Steve Schirripa, UFC champ Rampage Jackson, and NFL players Jonathan Ogden, John Welborne, Melvin Fowler, Alex Smith and Brian Kelly all sang along.
At the world-famous Rehab pool party next day Akon surprised fans with over an hour-long impromptu performance. He was overheard telling his entourage that he only planned to do three songs but the crowd’s energy kept him going for the extra time. Included were all the stars from the prior night along with Floyd Mayweather, Rampage Jackson, Alex Smith (Tampa Bay Bucaneers) and Sedrick Ellis (NFL first round draft pick).
Meantime at Pure nightclub on the Strip at Caesars Palace, former heavyweight champ Mike Tyson and Luxor comedy headliner Carrot Top partied into the pre-dawn hours at adjoining main stage VIP tables but made an “odd couple” when they posed for fans who lit up the place with flashbulbs galore! At Pure’s sister Company American Bistro in the Luxor, retired Hall of Fame NFL quarterback John Elway hosted a large group of guests and then joined former Denver Bronco’s team-mate Mark Jackson on the main stage of the adjoining: LAX nightclub in the Luxor to party the night away. Also there moving and grooving to DJ Steve Aoki were film star Chris Tucker, MAD TV’s Will Sasso and actress Joan Allen of the Bourne Ultimatum and the Bourne Supremacy.
