PENN TACKLES QUICK-STEP BEFORE DOUBLE STAR DANCING WITH THE STARS KO!
Dance experts say that the quick-step is perhaps the most technically challenging of all ballroom dances—and that’s the brutal battle our favorite headline magician Penn Jillette faces tonight (MON).
In the past seven days, since he and Kym Johnson partnered on the opening sixth season episode of Dancing with the Stars he’s commuted three times back and forth between Los Angeles and Las Vegas in order to keep performing nightly with partner Teller at their Rio resort magic show—and prepare for this evening’s live telecast. Last week he came in second to last with the cha-cha dance routine—and he has to again beat Adam Carolla to prevent being eliminated tomorrow night (TUES) in the show’s first ever double KO!
Click here for our debut coverage last week. Our other Vegas favorite Priscilla Presley will also dance again this evening but her high-scores from the judges last week certainly don’t pose such an immediate problem for her!
Penn’s wife, Emily told Luxe Life: “It’s fantastic to see Penn entertaining his fans in a way they’ve never seen him—and even better—introducing him to so many people who’ve never seen him perform. Hopefully all those votes put together means we can look forward to seeing him come back each week so he can bring the Disco Ball Trophy back to Vegas.” She’s got all Rio employees wearing “Vote for Penn” buttons and local fans can support him by purchasing “Vote for Penn & Kym” merchandize at www.cafepress.com/dwts
The 6-foot, 6-inch magician has dropped 55 pounds since he began rehearsals, dance routines and rigorous physical workouts in late December to practice for the top-rated hit ABC-TV show. “I know I’m the underdog—I even call myself Big Foot! But I’ve been working as hard as I can to give it my best to stay on for as long as possible,” he said.
Check back here to Luxe Life tomorrow (TUES) for the overnight comments and all new photos before the nail-biting cliff-hanging results show tomorrow night!
