PENN & PRISCILLA ARE HOURS AWAY FROM FIRST DANCES
In just a few hours rebel magician Penn Jillette will display the dancing skills he’s perfected over the last 10-weeks as the new season of Dancing with the Stars gets underway.
He’s been practicing the mambo maneuvers and fancy foxtrot footwork for seven-days a week, five-hours a day plus intense tough exercise workouts twice daily—and he’s dropped more than 50 pounds with the strenuous schedule, which includes a daily 8-mile run since signing on at Christmas! Priscilla Presley is our other Vegas hero to root for on the top-rated ABC-TV show.
Luxe Life has learned how tonight (MON) and tomorrow’s (TUES) debut two-hour specials will flow. All 12 competitors will be introduced on air tonight live and then the first six couples will be selected to “trip the light fandango” with the remaining six dance teams strutting their stuff tomorrow. Next Monday all 12 will perform a second routine and then for the first time ever since the show began there’ll be a dramatic double elimination of two stars next Tuesday—a week from tomorrow. Penn will commute by private jet between Hollywood and Vegas during his run on the show so—thanks to the three-hour east coast time difference for the live telecasts—he can still be on stage with his silent partner Teller for their 9 p.m. shows at the Rio resort casino. Penn’s wife Emily has all the Rio staff wearing “Vote for Penn” buttons! Click here for Friday’s Luxe Life, which detailed his amazing weight loss and the unique way he and his partner, Kym Johnson will dance because of their 12” height difference.
Kym, now in her 4th season on the show moved to Vegas almost three-months ago to alleviate some of Penn’s brutal travel schedule and she’ll stay here until he wins or he’s voted off. “He’s very dedicated and he’s come along really well. When I found out how tall he was and how big he is I was concerned he’d be heavy on his feet and wouldn’t be able to move all that well. But I was pleasantly surprised” she said. The twosome can now perform 14 consecutive cha-cha-cha routines including his walrus slide on his stomach between her legs! Says Penn who admits he’s never seen an episode of DWTS previously: “ Its hard work—very, very physical, very draining.”
Partner Teller has placed a big bet on Penn going all the way through to the winning moment. Luxe Life will be back tomorrow and Wednesday with up-to-the minute news and photos from the Hollywood studio as we keep track of Penn and Priscilla’s ballroom battle.
