PENN & PRISCILLA “UNDER THE GUN” AT DANCING WITH THE STARS
It was an edge of the seats thriller for Dancing with the Stars contestants last night (MON) including our Vegas favorites—Priscilla Presley and magician Penn Jillette. He has been commuting almost non-stop between Hollywood and his Rio headlining show. Penn and partner Kym Johnson had to perform the technically challenging foxtrot for their second dance of the new 6th season of hit ABC-TV shows.
Videotape of their rehearsals was ominous with Penn breaking the equipment and them having to tear a practice barre from the wall to use it for his posture! But everybody said he was the most energetic and funniest contestant of the night, sawing his partner Kym in half and having a mysterious rising tie during the routine. As the judges voted Penn didn’t miss a beat fearlessly firing back at them for their comments—and his fake stair stumbles brought further laughs. Fortunately for him he scored 17 with Kym getting applause for the most glamorous hair-style and gorgeous gown of the night, Steve Guttenberg scored lower with a 16 and Monica Seles was lowest of all with just 15 for her mambo.
Our other favorite, Priscilla and partner Louis Van Amstel scored a scrape-by 21.
So my predictions and calculations say that it’ll be a toss up—down to the wire—that either Adam Carolla with Julianne, wearing less and less cover-ups, or Steve Guttenberg who will be first male to go tonight (TUES) and Monica will be sent home as the first female knocked out of the contest!
But it’s the viewers who actually vote and decide tonight (TUES) who goes and who stays. Two stars will be axed—and Penn’s partner, the silent Teller is hoping that his magic-colleague stays. He’s got a big bet riding all the way through to the finale that Penn will make real magic and win. Penn’s wife Emily believes her husband gets better every week and the 6-foot-6-inch star himself doesn’t think he’ll be the first to be eliminated!
