PARTYING AT THE PALMS
Wrestling champion Terry Hogan was the first star in line to close on his new Palms Place condo—and owner George Maloof tells me they’ve already processed all the documents for the first 90-buyer closings in the first week!
Jessica Simpson and Paul Stanley from KISS will become his neighbors by May when the closings are concluded. Hogan, a 12-time world champion, with six belts apiece from WWE and WCW celebrated with five guy-pals over a pre-midnight meal at N9ne Steakhouse at the resort. But “The Hulk” had everybody doing seafood with oysters, tuna, caviar, rock shrimp, and salmon. They started with the green Tourment absinthe martinis and switched to Plumjack Merlot for their dinner delicacies.
So You Think You Can Dance judge, Nigel Lythgoe, who is also Simon Cowell’s partner and producer of American Idol was also at N9ne but he stuck to Pellegrino sparkling water to accompany his onion soup, roasted mushrooms and petit filet steak. But that left room to share almond tart and banana cream pie with his three friends! A slew of sports stars were all over the Palms the past few days with baseball’s Pete Rose at the N9ne steakhouse who persuaded chef Barry Dakake to charge up his cell phone in the kitchen during the meal; Brian Westbrook, running back of the Philadelphia Eagles flashed his bling-bling watch while polishing off the lobster bisque and a 24 ounce bone-in rib eye; former St. Louis Rams player and now an analyst for the NFL Network, Marshall Faulk ordered his Kobe beef burger without the bun but then had bread pudding for dessert!
Next door at the Rain nightclub Doug E. Fresh, one of the first rap-stars and known as the Human Beat Box from Barbados started his set there at 12:15 a.m. and even before he began rapping he wished DJ Rob a happy birthday! His entourage of lady friends won a table on the stage to be close to him and he treated them to champagne! Upstairs atop the adjoining Fantasy Tower San Francisco 49’s linebacker Patrick Willis enjoyed his Patron tequila on the outside deck of Moon nightclub while snowboard super champion, Sean White, treated his sister Carey to her 23rd birthday celebration also with Patrol tequila shots—in fact 25 of them! He persuaded a waitress to bring over a large bottle of Perrier Jouet champagne and it arrived complete with birthday sparklers for their final nightcap!
