SPORTS STARS AND RAPPER-ROCKERS GET THEIR GROOVE ON AT THE PALMS

I’ve come to the conclusion that it doesn’t matter which night of the week you party at the Palms, you are certain to find stars and celebrities both to the left and the right of you. It’s a staggering star-studded selection.

First stop always seems to be the N9NE Steakhouse where even our Merry Mayor of Mirth, Oscar Goodman ordered his signature Bombay Sapphire martinis, plus a Budweiser to go with his Kobe beef! Mrs. Mayor enjoyed a Cosmo with her petit filet steak and creamed spinach! They even got to talk a little football with Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who was staying in a Fantasy Tower suite, and Cincinnati Bengals star-player Carson Palmer. Incidentally, Ben is a calamari and oysters man! Next night, Ben hit the sky-level Playboy Club where he’d reserved a Blackjack table and with four pals and two bodyguards in tow placed bets ranging from $2,000 to $8,000!

Palms owner George Maloof and his brother Gavin entertained super-sports stars Barry Bonds, Terrell Owens of the Dallas Cowboys along with pro-skateboarder and reality TV star Rob Dyrdek. Barry led a chant during dinner using the letters “T.O.” and got all the other diners in the restaurant to join in, too! The group all drank Absinthe shots of the new drink-rage Le Tourment Vert! Also knocking back the green liquid poured over sugar cubes were wrestling-actor David Arquette with Wonder Years star Jason Herby and Minott Wessinger, owner of the Absinthe company.

Grammy-nominated singer songwriter Keyshia Cole was an early diner at N9NE enjoying a Cadillac Margarita with her surf and turf dinner.

By coincidence, as she got up to leave the sound system there played her song, “Let It Go” featuring Missy Elliott so she sang her way out of the restaurant!

Actor-rapper Ja Rule—his seven albums have sold 20-million copies worldwide to date—stuck with lobster throughout his dinner there from the soup course to the entrée. Although he wore a black t-shirt and black baseball cap, it was his bulging bling that lit up the night. He had rhinestones and a white beaded necklace with a large diamond-studded cross. Ja Rule also dined at the resort’s Nove Italiano restaurant and partied at the Moon nightclub there giving a surprise impromptu performance for the Visible Angels female footwear line owner Joe Ponce.

Also spotted at Moon were former New Jersey Nets and Detroit Pistons basketball star Cliff Robinson, dancing all night long with his lady, Heather, San Francisco 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis, and rock band Cobra Star Ship who also hit the Playboy Club. They bought enough Grey Goose vodka and Green Absinthe to pour shots for other club-goers at nearby tables, plus pouring it down each other’s throats right from the bottle in true rock-star fashion!

For two consecutive nights, former boy-band star, singer Lance Bass partied there at Ghostbar, Moon and the Playboy Club.

He told Playboy Bunny covergirl Lindsey Roper he got right off the plane from New York and came right over. His group did rounds of Patron tequila shots and Lance curiously had one lady on his arm when they went out on the patio for a while and then returned to dance with her around their table when the DJ played N’ Sync’s “Bye Bye Bye”! Lance and the lady stayed until the lights were turned on at 4 a.m.! Also at Ghostbar was New York Jets player, Nick Mangold with his trademark long hair flowing out of his backwards baseball cap. He and five friends had flown in from Cincinnati to celebrate a birthday!

By now you expect the rockers, rappers and sports stars to all party hearty at the Palms—but a country music star? George Strait felt right at home with his three friends in the Nove Italiano restaurant. He took a terrace table overlooking the Strip and promptly ordered up an expensive $400 bottle of Lakoya Cabernet!

Next week Luxe Life takes a tour with George Maloof of his new third tower, Palms Place and we peek into Jessica Simpson, Paul Stanley and Hulk Hogan’s penthouses at the condo-tel. We’ll splash the photo report here on Tuesday as the new residents get set to move in 24-hours later!
