NEW SEASON EPISODES START FILMING AS SUNSET TAN OPENS NEW VEGAS SALON

Everybody from Britney Spears to Jenna Jameson, from Chris Kattan to Tito Ortiz goes under the sun-gun at Sunset Tan to ensure a year-round healthy glow—and now hotel tycoon George Maloof has opened a branch here at his new Palms Place condo-tel. The original LA Sunset Tan in Hollywood became a hit E! Network reality series—Sunset Tan—with employees competing to become manager of the new Vegas outpost.

When the tanning salon in the Palms Place tower was opened lovely Janelle Perry was introduced as the winner and new manager by owner and founders Devin Harman and Jeff Bozz and investor partner Larry Rudolph, longtime former Britney Spears manager.

Now they are all filming the new season of shows right here in Vegas and I wound-up being on the debut Vegas show!

Janelle personally handled my tanning treatment for the cameras. “I want to look like George Hamilton,” I told her referring to my perpetually bronzed actor friend. She assured me I could and would as she gave me a tour of the most technically advanced tanning salon on earth. There are tanning beds and tanning stalls for the most up-to-date treatments—and I picked the 120-second full body Versa Spa spray! Janelle gave me the simplest of instructions of standing in four easy positions for the quick spritz! An anti-aging, skin firming ingredient approved by the FDA for over 30 years produces the customized glow—and no after smell! I honestly felt as if I’d spent a day at the beach—all in under five minutes.

Et voila! Without burning under the hot desert sun of Vegas I looked healthier, younger and my white skin had turned a lovely shade of bronze! Check our before and after photos as I celebrated with champagne! I asked to meet the Olly Girls who found fame and fortune on the first year of shows but apparently they were fired after throwing a party at owner Jeff’s house while he was out of town! Oh the drama that goes on in a tanning salon.

Janelle who has moved to Vegas from California competed against four others in the reality show battle to win the salon here. “I’d been with the company four years managing the Santa Monica location. I thought I had the most training and the most experience. I earned the Vegas store—and its become my baby,” she told me. “It wasn’t easy because everyone else competing was whining they’d do a better job. I loved being a part of the show even though they painted me as a real witch. It was a rough ride because I didn’t think I was going to get it. I’m still excited to be part of the show but now my main task is to ensure the Vegas salon’s success. I love it that we are inside the Palms—its hot and trendy.”

“My mission now is to tell everybody that they can have a beautiful tan without roasting in the sun and hot sizzling temperatures. In fact our tans are a great base for going out to the pool or being outdoors in the summer. We’re right inside the new Drift Spa and steps from the gorgeous pool club and star chef Kerry Simon’s amazing new restaurant. I’ve already fallen in love with Vegas—and all this at Palms Place is truly the very best you could imagine.”

Our debut Vegas episode will air shortly after the big May 31 Memorial Day weekend launch of Sunset Tan Vegas—and E! Network cameras return next month to film the remaining episodes.

The Palms is also playing host to a new MTV show simultaneously: Rock the Cradle. Cameramen from the two shows were literally tripping over each other in the parking lots before they went off to film in the different towers. Chloe Lattani, Olivia Newton John’s daughter, Crosy Loggins, son of Kenny Loggins, Akeiba Hammer, daughter of MC Hammer, Jesse Blaze, son of Twisted Sister Dee Snider and Eagle Joe Walsh’s daughter Lucy plus Bobby Brown’s son, Landon and Jesse Money, daughter of Eddie Money all shot scenes.
