Everybody who has ever known, met or watched Siegfried & Roy has assumed they were gay. Nobody’s ever discussed it openly though, out of respect for the beloved entertainers - and the masterful magicians have never felt the need to talk about it. Now for the first time, in a climate where it’s politically correct to acknowledge homosexuality without any problem, the German-born superstars who live here in Vegas are apparently admitting it.

Germany’s top-selling prestigious mass-circulation weekly magazine, Bild says it has advance secrets from their upcoming autobiography to be published before year’s-end here.

“Yes, we are gay,” admit the magicians in the Bild article, which goes onto say that they loved each other very much once, but the liaison changed after it had turned itself into a professional partnership. According to the article, today they are in the best and beautiful of deep-friendships. Seigfried demonstrated that loyalty by never leaving the side of his former partner after the near-deadly tiger attack in the Mirage on Roy’s birthday back in October ’03.

The book will also discuss, the out of body “journey” that Roy experienced when he was clinically dead on four separate occasions while Vegas surgeons battled to save him on the operating table at our local Trauma Center. The book will apparently relate Roy’s vision of his late mother and brother during the “death-time.” The book is also expected to reflect on his mother’s painkiller drug addiction and how it almost caught up with both entertainers.
