FIRST LOOK INSIDE NEW STATE OF THE ART SALON & LEGENDARY CHOCOLATIER OPENS UNIQUE ‘DESSERTS ONLY’ RESTAURANT
He’s known as the ‘color king of the stars’—and hairdresser Michael Boychuck will open his brand new “Color” salon alongside the new ultimate luxury QUA spa baths at Caesars Palace right after Christmas in time for the New Year’s rush.
Luxe Life has the first look at the Faye Resnick designed ballcourt of beauty.
Among the stars whose hair Michael is always running his hands through: Paris Hilton and her sister, Nicky who got a sneak preview with their parents recently, top model Willa Ford, actress Kirsten Dunst, singer Susan Anton and a host of other Hollywood stars when they come to town, plus all of Vegas’ top executives’ wives. The celebrity colorist recruited famed Hollywood designer Faye Resnick for the state of the art salon—the only one in town with Hairdreams extensions and Laserbeamer hair extension technology that cuts the time by two-thirds. Glistening chandeliers provide the soft lighting at the Fendi armoire styling stations with prisms of colors illuminating throughout.
“We’ve assembled the most talented hair artists on the Strip,” says Michael. “They are highly skilled, and since this is my passion, every guest will leave with extreme confidence knowing their hair, skin and nails are shining for the world to see.”
His new hair experience comes complete with 12 styling stations, 90-minute loveseat pedicures for couples in a private Crystal lounge, a lather lounge for deep-hair conditioning masks, a first for Vegas ‘hair florist” for fragrant accessorizing—great for brides—and even a live DJ at weekends! No problem if the ladies want to check email or their Wall Street stock prices, as he even has wi-fi computers available. In addition, there’s a personal shopper on hand to take care of purchases while the ladies are under the dryer, and even a private three-throned Vanity Room for the Brazilian-styled bikini waxing artists! They even have—only in Vegas—a line of crystal body art to add to the “Vegas Strip,” “Hearts of Diamonds” and “Yield” treatments! In yet another first, clients can sip champagne and even teas from ceremonial vessels while adding eyelash extensions. Spa sommelier Melissa Fielding is the first anywhere in the world to match up 20 different tea blends with salon treatments as a pairing for pleasure adding to the entire beautification process. Guys—she even has a Gunpowder green tea with French lemon Ginger to cure hangovers and jetlag!
Also newly-opened at Caesars is the Payard Patisserie and Bistro—hailed in New York by food fashionistas. World-famous chocolatier and pastry chef, Francois Payard has created brioche, beignets (and croissants) for breakfast, classic French fare for lunch and a unique dinner that is a four-course all-dessert tasting menu.
Open from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. the restaurant serves charmed crepe creations, quiches and salads by day, but at night Francois deliberately decided not to serve a traditional dinner. Instead he showcases the four flavor groups of cheeses, fruits, coffee, caramel and nuts and then “All Chocolate” for chocoholics!
The intimate 46 seat restaurant, designed by acclaimed architect David Rockwell, has two other distinctly different “shops” and features a dramatic “to go” counter service and a open-display kitchen.
Francois has been named “Pastry Chef of the Year” by numerous food magazines, the prestigious James Beard Foundation and even the French Government. Check out his warm banana phyllo tart with white chocolate and passion fruit sauce and you’ll understand why he was given Wine Spectator’s “Award of Excellence” and named one of the top 85 pastry chefs in the world.
Before you depart our world entertainment and dining capitol, make certain you taste his “Devils Food Cake with Cardamom Pot de Crème, Chocolate Pudding and Whipped Crème Fraiche.” It will probably be the best dessert you will ever eat in your life! The aromas of freshly made dark chocolate, white chocolate, fruit chocolate, nutty chocolate and you-name-it chocolate will be a lasting memory. Genius Francois even made the wall-clock from chocolate.!
