FAB-FOUR RETURN HOME

Sold-out shows for Fab Four Mania at the V Theater in the Planet Hollywood Miracle Mile shopping center have convinced producer David Saxe to move the show as of tonight to the Sahara.

“It’s a homecoming in a sense,” he told me, “because the only Vegas visit The Beatles made was back in 1964 at the Sahara—so it’s an ideal fit. Plus, we can now accommodate almost 400 more Beatle fans at each show in the new theater. Their precise attention to detail puts them far above any other Beatles tribute show. They have an uncanny, note-perfect live rendition of the Beatles songs and it brings the audience as close as possible to the real thing. They replicate that famous Liverpool sound live in the original recorded keys without tapes, sequences or backing tracks. There are three sets of costume changes to represent every era of the Beatles changing career.”

You can expect LA hip-hot sleek-style when Hollywood nightlife and movie mogul, Sam Nazarian starts reshaping his newly acquired Sahara resort hotel. But he vows to keep its rich 55-year history and nostalgia that go all the way back to 1952. The Sahara is known as the last remaining Rat Pack resort because it was the backdrop for the original Ocean’s Eleven movie with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr.

Sam says he isn’t interested in “blowing up the building,” but instead will invest millions in an incredible up-to-date makeover. He’s got famed promoter Brent Bolthouse on tap to develop the nightclubs already planned for the casino, and as king of celebrity clubs, Sam will bring Hyde, Area, Lobby and Privilege across the I-15 Mojave ride with him. The Hollywood arbiter of “Luxe Life” also plans to bring his California hit restaurant, Katsuya over and give the Sahara a contemporary modern boutique look makeover akin to his Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica and the new SLS Hotel in West Hollywood. He’s got famed cutting edge designer Philippe Starck on board for that. Sam is also juggling the opening of a new hotel for 2009 that he’s building in South Beach, Miami.
