It’ll be several weeks before the Guinness World Records statisticians declare the Vegas Strip “chorus line” no.1 in the world, but it’s sure looking good.

Over 1,700 ladies clad in their traditional bright red and purple outfits high-stepped it down the boulevard to Harrah’s where comedienne Rita Rudner and singer songwriter Melissa Manchester greeted them. It was all part of the opening celebrations for the new Hats! musical at the resort casino that celebrates women’s maturity as they hit the big 5-0!

Melissa wrote several of the songs for the show and starred for a while in the Chicago version. Rita follows the show each night with her comedy act as the Harrah’s headliner.
