BRIDGET’S DAREDEVIL TRAPEZE SPLASH AT “O” SHOW

The Girls Next Door blonde beauty Bridget Marquardt had to “stray away” from Hef and his hutch over the weekend because she wanted to take a 20 foot high-dive from a trapeze hung over the watery-pool at Cirque du Soleil’s “O” show at the Bellagio. It was part of practice for the upcoming Secret Talents of the Stars new CBS TV show which debuts tomorrow night (TUES) with our Spamalot star John O’Hurley hosting live! (Be sure to read Luxe Life later this week when we have our exclusive interview with John celebrating the first year anniversary of the Monty Python musical at Wynn and when he reveals the behind the scenes secrets of his new Talents how.)

Meantime Bridget told me: “The first time I ever saw “O” years ago I wanted to fly free from the trapeze and jump into the water. But first I had to conquer my fear of heights and it wasn’t until I jumped off a cliff in Jamaica that I knew I could fulfill this fantasy for myself.”

So Bridget who has just been learning trapeze techniques in the grounds of Hef’s Playboy mansion until now, decided she was ready for the real thing. So before the weekend shows Bridget hung onto an “O” acrobatic aerialist’s hands and they were hauled 20 feet high in the air over the water.

“I was so excited,” said Bridget. “I couldn’t wait to dive. I yelled to them to get us up higher and faster—and then I screamed, “Here we go.” I told him to just let his hands go loose from my wrists and down I went. A perfect dive and I felt incredible.”

Bridget will continue on with her practice routines until she performs it live on O’Hurley’s show next Tuesday, April 15. John told me: “It’s live so anything can happen. That makes it extra exciting and riveting. The trapeze and the pool will be built in the studio so we all see it first hand for ourselves.” Says Bridget: “That makes it extra nerve-wracking but twice as exciting.”

Her Girls Next Door gal pal, Holly Madison commented: “We’re going to be there in the audience watching her death defying dive—all I wanted to do was take part in Dancing with the Stars. Maybe if Hef and I were invited to dance on the same season we would wind up opposite each other.”
