BREAKING NEWS ON GAMING

Wall Street sources have revealed this morning two local gaming industry developments:

* Station Casinos have been granted an extension on its Wild Wild West project … and
* Caesars Palace gets height variance for potential fourth tower.

Apparently our County commissioners have approved a proposal to give Station Casinos a three-year extension to November 3, 2010, to redevelop the Wild Wild West property in Las Vegas. Stations purchased the truck-stop locals casino on Tropicana just off the I-15 but have never revealed what they plan to do with the property which is closer to the Strip that its nearby neighbor The Orleans.

Meanwhile, the commissioners also authorized the request by Caesars’ executives to raise the height for its proposed fourth new tower to 350 feet, up from 295 feet. That probably means a 35-story tower of super-suites.
