A “weekend wedding watch” is underway for singing super stars Beyoncé and Jay-Z in New York City. (See our earlier Luxe Life notes below and click here for our interview with the rap mogul about marriage and romance)!

Rumors are that the romantic twosome will officially tie the knot in a tent being erected atop his penthouse apartment in Manhattan either as early as this evening or tomorrow—or have one incredible celebration for something completely different. But most are betting the long overdue wedding will in fact cap their six-year romance.

Luxe Life reported that the hip-hop superstars acquired their wedding license on Tuesday in the New York City suburb of Scarsdale. They have been dating since 2002 and eventually became engaged in 2006.

Jay-Z, who is 36 and Beyoncé, 28, are partners in the 40/40 sports ultra-club at the newly opened Palazzo here alongside The Venetian.

Elaborate floral displays and candles were being delivered to his swank giant penthouse all afternoon long. Jay-Z flew in from a Boston concert and Beyoncé’s gal pals from Destiny’s Child have all arrived in The Big Apple.
