$300-MILLION MAKEOVER AT LUXOR INCLUDES A CATHOUSE
Seductive, provocative and very intimate! That’s the official description of the new CatHouse ultra-lounge and restaurant going into the Luxor resort-casino as part of its new $300-million makeover. The curvy Egyptian hieroglyphics are being replaced with bountiful buxom blondes and brunettes dressed in barely-there lingerie, lacy bust-out bras, garter-belts, and stockings—and LUXE LIFE has the first official artist renderings.
“It is the most cutting edge push-the-envelope sexy, sophistication to ever be found in Vegas,” promises one of the owners, Genghis Cohen.
“It’s our modern interpretation of a 19th century bordello! The feel will be of a European cabaret and high-end opulent brothel where voyeurism isn’t just okay—it’s encouraged!”
No touching—but you can “interact” with the beauties as they entertain with “lingerie vignettes.” You can buy the glamour-gals a sexy change of erotic exotic underthings if you prefer them to what they’re wearing and they’ll go off and change for you to model your chosen wicked-wardrobe! The CatHouse has taken over the former Isis & Sacred Sea restaurant space and will be divided into two 5,000 square foot rooms; one for the ultra lounge and the other for a restaurant where celebrity chef Kerry Simon will serve American tapas dining delicacies with an Asian influences.
The dining room will be sultry and sexy with low-light chandeliers, fabric walls and a cobalt-blue color scheme. The ultra lounge will be a predominantly red room to create an intimate, seductive and elegant setting.
“We needed to create something totally different that had never been seen in Vegas before,” Genghis told me. “Every resort now has an ultra lounge, but only the Luxor now has a 19th century bordello.”
I asked him just how sexy sexy can be on the Strip.
“What we are going to try to do the most of is create the feel of being in an old school brothel without the actual brothel. That is what we are shooting for. It’ll have the feel of the history of the old bordellos of Nevada. We will utilize lighting, music, costumes, and a lot of it is by using the room itself. We have furniture and podiums placed around the room. We will have situations where the customer can interact with the staff. We do it in a way that is completely above board, totally legal and within all the laws, rules and regulations, but short of the interaction that goes on in some of the adult clubs right now. Our customers, for example, will have the ability to choose what the entertainer or server is wearing. They can pick lingerie and their favorite girl can change into it. Think of the Pussycat Dolls or the girls of La Femme and mix that into an ultra lounge. We can’t have topless, but we will have the sexy seductive aspect of it. The dress and undress is verbal and voyeuristic but not physical. We are a little below what those showgirls show. They have an element of sexy, and we have something different. Those girls are on a stage apart, but our environment provides the ability to interact with your server on a closer level you don’t have at a regular nightclub. We are going to do this by having more staff catering to individual customers. We’re starting with 30 gorgeous girls from Night One!”
I checked with Luxor President Felix Rappaport about just how sexy the Cathouse cuties can be.
“We are very sensitive about ensuring everything is totally legal,” he said. “We even ran the name CatHouse all the way up the corporate flagpole to ensure it didn’t offend or cause problems with the regulatory authorities—and it came back free and clean, with their blessing and approval. It helps keep us one step ahead of the competition and now makes us very much the leader n Vegas nightlife. We do not intend it to be an answer to competition from the adult strip clubs, but this will be the edgiest ultra lounge in town. It will solely be about entertainment and fun. Yes, we are pushing the limits, but this will be classy, sexy, safe, fun and … totally legal”
